Our company was founded in 1995 in a three way partnership between our family Patriarch, and two local family seed corn farms. Not satisfied with the local airplane offerings, it was decided that having their own helicopter to spray their seed was the way to go, and Central States Helicopters was born. After a bit of experimentation, we quickly began to perfect the art of spraying with a helicopter. At the time, we were the only helicopter "crop dusters" in the state of Nebraska.
Family Patriarch Mike operated the business mostly solo until 2010.
In 2010 Mike's oldest son Matt flew his first season, it was also Mike's last season in the pilot seat. Mike retired from flying at the end of the season in 2010 after 35 years of flying.
In 2012 Mike's middle son Ryan joined the business and began driving nurse truck.
A few years later Ryan moved off the truck and into the office. Learning the logistical side of the operation.
At the end of 2021 Mike retired for good, selling the operation to his sons Matt and Ryan who continue to run the business today.
